My practice explores memory, identity, and spiritual rootedness through mixed media, using
painting, textiles, collage, and found materials. Drawing on my British-Jamaican heritage and
life in Kuwait, I respond to themes of diaspora, silence, and belonging, especially through the
lens of Black womanhood.
I am drawn to the symbolic language of stillness, thresholds, modesty, and the unseen. My work
is often layered and tactile, evoking both fragility and resistance, and grounded in spiritual and
ancestral memory.
Influenced by artists such as Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, Barbara Walker, and Shirin Neshat, my
practice is both personal and political—a space to remember, to reflect, and to restore.
